Community

Community at the heart of our thinking..

Despite significant growth,  Exwold has proudly maintained a family atmosphere and as such takes its responsibilities to the local community very seriously.

Exwold is one of Hartlepool’s largest employers, employing over 120 people in stable, long-term employment. Exwold also supports the local economy by using local tradesmen and supplies where possible.

In 2013, Exwold’s 20th anniversary year, the employees voted to raise money for what was then ‘Hartlepool Hospice’, and through fundraising activities raised over £7,000. Since then Exwold has been able to continue supporting the hospice, now known as Alice House Hospice.

We have been able to sponsor the Wild Flower Initiative in Hartlepool, encouraging wild life in the area and supporting our staff in their numerous fundraisers. Exercise and mental health matter greatly too and Exwold sponsored a local sports club with their inspiring outreach programme during the Covid pandemic.

Recently we have supported a free breakfast club at a local secondary school. The project aims to provide a nutritious breakfast to as many students as possible, especially during these challenging times. We believe that education is key to building a better future, and this donation is a small step towards ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. Read more here.
