Regulatory Changes to Transport Hazard Labels 2016
Changes in the transportation of dangerous goods were made from 1st January 2015 in the ADR (European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) 2015 Edition.
Although we are sure most of our clients are aware, regulatory changes in the design of transport hazard labels become mandatory after 31st December 2016.
From the 1st January 2017 we understand that the following will be mandatory for all transport labels for all dangerous goods classes:
- The line inside the edge must be parallel and 5mm from the outside of that line to the edge
- The minimum width of the line inside the edge forming the diamond must be 2mm
We would advise all our clients to get their labelling and transport experts to check the ADR 2015 Edition to check that they are fully compliant if they haven't done this already.
If looking for advice on this subject you can find information about ADR 2015 at www.unece.org and for companies, the HSE website is an excellent source of information about labelling requirements and transport regulations (http://www.hse.gov.uk).
