Exwold 20th Anniversary: Year of Charity Grand Total
In celebrating our 20th Anniversary, all the staff at Exwold and many of our suppliers got involved in a year of charity and we are pleased to announce that we raised a grand total of £6637.50.
At the beginning of 2013, the Exwold staff voted for the charities they wanted to raise funds for & local charities Hartlepool District Hospice and Blind Voice were chosen. Regrettably the Blind Voice charity was closed a few months into our fund raising which highlights the importance of supporting charities such as this. We focused our efforts on raising money for Hartlepool District Hospice who provide palliative care for the terminally ill, as a Hartlepool based company many of staff know too well the excellent work carried out by the Hospice. Carol Sennett from the hospice has been a delight to work.
As well as raising money for a worthwhile cause, everyone at Exwold had a great deal of fun taking part in the events starting with the Charity Race Night was in January. On a sunny June Saturday, 25 employees and families walked to the top of Roseberry Topping and Simon Welch successfully completed the Great North Run. Other ways of raising money were diverse Julie Foster cycled to work everyday, there were cake bakes, a charity book table & raffles.
We could not have done this without the support of our suppliers and customers and want to thank everyone who contributed.
